Year-round development
Every season has a purpose.
Houlagan is built as a year-round program because real development happens through repetition over time, not in a single season. Both boys and girls follow the same four-season framework, fall, winter, spring, and summer, each building toward the next.
Seasonal calendar — Boys
The boys training year.
One practice per week from mid-September through late October. Designed to fit around other fall sports without asking players to choose. Five to six team practices build chemistry heading into winter.
Fall travel Sept–Oct
One practice per week. Five to six sessions total. Built to avoid conflicting with other fall sports.
Practice: Day/time TBD
Spring season Apr–May
Youth (grades 3–8) practice weekly with one spring tournament. High school spring is dedicated to college recruiting events and D1/D2/D3 coach access nights.
Practice: Day/time TBD
Winter Academy 3 × 6-wk sessions
Skills and drills at our Epping and Hampton Seacoast United facilities. Register for whatever fits your schedule and skill level.
Format: Flexible by session
Summer travel Jun–Jul
Two practices per week at our outdoor turf facility in Epping. Ten to twelve practices followed by 3–4 New England tournaments. Elite teams may add one national event.
Practice: 2x/week, TBD
Winter addition · Boys
Box Lacrosse
A faster-paced, tighter-space version of the game that builds skills transferring directly to the field. Not mandatory, but strongly encouraged. Late November through early January, Sunday night practices, one tournament.
Seasonal calendar — Girls
The girls training year.
Girls follows the same four-season framework as boys, with practice days and times set specifically for the girls schedule.

Box Lacrosse
Not currently offered for girls, but actively under consideration as the program grows. Interested in box lacrosse for girls? Let us know, demand helps shape what we build next.
Skills clinics
Position-specific training, open to both programs.
These clinics run as shared offerings with sessions organized by program, so every athlete gets focused coaching in their specific position.
Speed Clinic
Off-season conditioning and speed development that keeps players athletic year round and ahead of the competition at tryouts.
Goalie Academy
Dedicated training for goalies, covering positioning, reaction work, and the technical fundamentals that don't get enough attention in regular practice.
Faceoff / Draw Clinic
Specialized technique work for faceoff specialists and draw control, a skill that can decide possession and momentum in close games.
Our goal is to keep rosters between 15 and 20 players with 2 to 3 coaches per team. This allows coaches to spend maximum time with athletes and gives players a high number of touches every time they step on the field, across every season and every clinic.
