Our story

Built on the Seacoast.
Built like a family.

Houlagan Lacrosse started with one coach and a simple idea: every player who wants to get better deserves real attention. Fifteen years later, that idea is still what runs the program, just with a lot more people carrying it forward.

How we got here

A Seacoast program, from the start.

Houlagan Lacrosse has grown steadily since its founding, but the foundation has never changed: development first, family always.

2010
Houlagan Lacrosse is founded
Sean Houlahan founds Houlagan Lacrosse in Epping, New Hampshire, bringing his college and high school coaching background to the Seacoast with a single goal: help local players develop real skills and a real love for the game.
Growing years
Programming expands across the Seacoast
Houlagan grows to offer year-round programming in both Epping and Hampton, expanding travel teams across grade levels for both boys and girls, and building the Queen of the Hill League into one of the region's longest-running girls leagues.
Box lacrosse joins the program
Houlagan introduces a winter box lacrosse program, quickly becoming one of the most popular additions in the club's history.
Today
Two equal programs, one family
Boys and girls lacrosse stand as fully equal programs at Houlagan, each led by a dedicated director, each offering travel teams from grade 3 through 12, year-round training, and a real path to college recruiting.

What we believe

Family-operated. Seacoast rooted.

Houlagan Lacrosse is a family-operated club, and we mean that as more than a tagline. Every player who joins is treated as an extended member of that family, not a name on a roster. We built this program here on the Seacoast, and we have stayed here, with our facilities, our relationships, and our community all rooted in the towns we serve across New Hampshire, Maine, and Northern Massachusetts.

Development Over Politics

We build players, not just rosters. Every coaching decision starts with what helps an individual athlete grow.

Seacoast Roots

We are not a regional chain spread thin across four states. We are local, and we are staying local.

Personal Attention, Always

Small rosters and real coach-to-player ratios mean your son or daughter is known by name, not just by number.

A Program for Everyone

Boys and girls, all grades, all skill levels. Need-based financial aid ensures passion for the game is what matters most.

Leadership and coaching staff

The people behind the program.

Houlagans is led by coaches who have played and coached the game at every level, from local youth leagues to Division I lacrosse.
